Dr. George Deikun, Mission Director, USAID-India visited the zero till wheat fields seeded by turbo seeder with full residue load (7-8 t/ha) as mulch on the surface at Mr. Swaranjeet’s farm in Matiala on April 16, 2008. He was accompanied by Mr. Anand Rurda, (Project Management Specialist, USAID-India), Dr. Himashu Pathak, Mr. Parvesh Chandna, Dr. Mahesh Gathala and Dr. Virender Kumar (Scientists of IRRI/RWC, New Delhi). Dr. Pathak explained the benefits of residue management in zero tillage fields and mentioned that residue management conserves soil moisture, improves soil health and also minimizes the adverse impact of extreme temperature fluctuations due to changing climate. ........................................................................for more information pl click the download link giveb below
