In
these pages we are depicting some of the success stories (and
failures at times!) which helped us building and sustain the
Consortium umbrella . In many cases, Consortium have been a
torch-bearer of some new and bold initiatives and we are happy
that even the donor community takes active interest and are
actively collaborating in our programs. To cite an example,
Frans Neuman, Advisor, Knowledge and Information Management
at the International Agricultural Center (IAC), Netherlands
and CGIAR Liaison for Netherlands came to visit us three years
back. After interacting with the partners, he became very interested
and currently he acts as our Advisor in Information, Communication,
and Technology (ICT) activities!!! With help from IAC, we are
in the process of completing the development of a Project Research
and Information System Module (PRISM), which will give instantaneous
access to loads of data related to rice-wheat projects, partner
institutions, and experts of South Asia.

| From
the top echelons of the Governments of Bangladesh, Nepal, India,
and Pakistan we are fortunate to have the solid support of Drs
Karim, Joshi, Paroda, and Malik who take active interest in the
Consortium projects and find enough time to participate in most
of our initiatives. Notwithstanding the fact that they shoulder
the responsibility of steering the Consortium, they acts as our
Goodwill Ambassadors in important forums. |
